History
After a strong showing for the US wrestlers at the 2016 Olympics in Rio, it was very apparent the RTC model was mutually beneficial for international and collegiate success alike. Columbia University, with newly appointed Head Coach Zach Tanelli at the helm, made a full commitment to elevating the historic program to national prominence. Sensing the need for a Regional Training Center to complement the program, the NYCRTC was launched in the Spring of 2017. The NYCRTC trains out of two facilities – The Edge School of Wrestling in Hoboken, NJ and the Columbia wrestling facility on the campus of NYC’s Columbia University.
