Women’s Freestyle Novice Competition

Eligibility:
Open to any woman with less than 2 years of wrestling experience in any style ranging ages 16-21 with an active USA Wrestling Membership.

Athlete Participation Fee: $20
Spectator Fee: $5
Coaches: $0

Tentative Schedule:
Weigh Ins: 9:30am
Competition Begins: 11:00-1:30
Pizza Party & Social: 1:30-2:30

Competition Format
Madison Bracketing (no set weight classes) 

  • Two, 2 minute periods with a 30 second break between rounds running clock 

*In an effort to allow for more mat time, there will be no pins or tech’s in the first period. 

  • If a competitor is pinned in the first period, wrestling will resume back on their feet. If a pin is called in the second period, the match will end. 

  • If a competitor scores 10+ points greater than their opponent (technical fall) in the first period, they will restart with a 0-0 score in the second period. If a tech is reached in the second period, the match will end.
